May 10th, 2025 is the U.S. National Science Foundation's 75th Anniversary and NSF seeks to amplify the visibility and impact of its investments for the public through a nationwide "NSF STEM Day". Museums, planetariums, libraries, community-based organizations, parks, and universities across the nation are hosting unique activities to engage the public with STEM through a wide range of informal STEM learning experiences and environments that make lifelong learning a reality.

A collaboration between SCCMS, Clemson's Science Outreach Center, Urban League, STEM-SC and, STEM Nola, we'll be hosting a NSF STEM Day to showcase NSF-powered research: "Using storytelling and a justice-oriented STEM after-school club as critical tools for cultivating African American youths' STEM identities" and "Designing Learning Technology Environments for Middle School Students to Analyze and Interpret Data Visualizations."

The event will kick off with a keynote speaker, Dr. Corliss Outley, Director of Clemson's Race, Ethnicity, Youth and Social Equity Collaboratory (REYSE). Then, guests will explore interactive STEM activities, brought by STEM-SC, and engaging STEM-based sessions highlighting NSF investements by Clemson's Science Outreach Center. Sessions will explore the intersection of science, art, social justice, and data analysis. The event will conclude with a youth panel, organized by Urban League of the Upstate, who will share their "STEM stories" and reflect on their experiences with NSF-powered research.
